Day 1 Arrival in Fairbanks - Aurora Observation at the Cabin

  • Itinerary:

Fairbanks, the second largest city in Alaska with a population of 100,000, is a transportation hub for exploring the interior of Alaska and the Arctic Circle. Fairbanks is a global destination for viewing the Northern Lights. There are more than 243 days of clear night sky in a year when the Northern Lights can be seen. Since it is only 310 kilometers away from the Arctic Circle and is backed by the barrier of mountains, Fairbanks can avoid bad weather. Therefore, Northern Lights seekers will gather in this city where the Northern Lights are most easily observed. There are also many newlyweds who choose this place as their honeymoon destination because of the ancient legend that "seeing the Northern Lights will bring you happiness for a lifetime." The tour guide will use professional shooting equipment to record the beautiful moments under the Northern Lights for you, and will also provide you with technical support in terms of photography skills and parameter settings.

  • Itinerary:

Upon arrival, check in to the hotel with valid ID. The check-in time for hotels in Alaska is 15:00.

22:00 Depart from the designated hotel and take the Aurora Bus to the Aurora Cabin to wait for the Aurora to appear. You can rest in the lounge and enjoy the rich snacks, hot chocolate, coffee, tea, etc. we provide while waiting for the Aurora.

We will return to our hotel in downtown Fairbanks at 2:00 a.m. the next day, ending a pleasant and unforgettable day.

Day 2 City Tour - Chasing Lights in the Wilderness

  • Itinerary:

【Museum of the North】

The Northern Polar Museum is located on the campus of the University of Alaska Fairbanks. It is a modern building that perfectly blends curves and sharp angles. It is all white and blends in with the surrounding snow in winter, which is chic and artistic. The exhibits in the exhibition hall are not to be missed. There are specimens of animals living around the Arctic Circle, as well as the lifestyles and conditions of local indigenous people. The most attractive are the exhibits that can be touched by hand, which enriches your sensory experience and makes your travel experience more memorable. In addition, our guides' vivid explanations of the exhibits will also make your trip to the Northern Polar Museum worthwhile. Check-in point recommendation: Remember to take a photo with the Internet celebrity "Jaylen Bear" in the museum, and capture the most beautiful sunset in Fairbanks.

【Santa Claus House】

Walking on the streets of the North Pole Village is like walking in a fairy tale world. The street lamps are all in the shape of red and white candy canes. Even the town's ambulances and police cars use the two classic Christmas colors - red and green. The main street in the area is also called "Jingle Street", which is named after the sound of bells jingling when Santa Claus slides by on his sleigh. The 16-meter-high giant Santa Claus statue, 2-meter-high polar bears and elks, and many Christmas trees here are all suitable for taking pictures. You can also send a postcard from the North Pole. In winter, the Santa Claus hut in the North Pole Village is only open at fixed times. If the Santa Claus hut is closed, you will visit the North Pole town (North Pole).

  • Itinerary:

14:00 Depart from the designated pick-up hotel,

14:30 Northern Polar Museum, head to the Northern Polar Museum located on the Fairbanks campus of the University of Alaska

If the Northern Polar Museum is closed, we will go to the Thompson Memorial Center.

16:00 Santa Claus House

The tour is expected to end around 17:00 and return to the hotel

22:00 Depart from the hotel and our experienced tour guide will take you to the wilderness, away from the light pollution of the city, to chase and look for the traces of the Aurora. The Aurora is a natural landscape that can only be encountered by chance. When the Aurora appears in the sky, the tour guide will stop the car for you to get off to take pictures and enjoy the Aurora; or take you to a place with super high visibility to stop and wait for the Aurora. Along the way, the tour guide will explain to you some knowledge about the Aurora, camera parameter adjustment and northern lights shooting techniques to help you take wonderful Aurora photos. Because it is a wilderness light chase, there are no toilets and hot drinks. If you need to use the bathroom, please inform the tour guide and he will arrange to go to a place with a bathroom.

02:00 Return to downtown Fairbanks, ending a perfect day.

Even in the cold winter, you can see Santa Claus' good friends, enjoying life here leisurely.

It is an ice sculpture museum open all year round, built with 1,000 tons of ice and snow. The exquisitely designed sculptures are guaranteed to keep you glued to your eyes. There is not only the smallest chapel in the world, but also a real Inuit igloo and a bedroom made entirely of ice. Dog sledding

Dog sledding has been an integral part of Alaskan life since before European explorers arrived. Despite the distances between towns, traveling with dog teams is still the best way to get around. Today, locals still rely on dog teams for hunting and travel, and enthusiasts love to explore the wild with man's best friend, which is even a famous sporting event. Here, you will have plenty of time to get up close and personal with the sled dogs. You will ride on a sled and explore the snowy mountains of Alaska with these dogs. This tour is suitable for all ages and is specially designed for ordinary tourists who want to experience the speed and passion of dogs, and enjoy a comfortable and safe journey. Not only that, you will also have the opportunity to learn about Alaskan Huskies, dog sledding, and related events. And as a good friend of man, these cute little creatures thrive on this land together with their owners.

【Snowmobile】 (Driver's license required, this activity is guided by an English-speaking instructor, so you need to have a certain level of English communication skills)

In Alaska's long winter, snowmobiles are the coolest way of transportation and entertainment. Riding in the endless snowfields of Alaska brings a different kind of pleasure and excitement. Under the guidance of professional coaches, beginners can also master driving skills simply and clearly. Under the guidance of the coaches, they can speed across the snow, enjoy the scenery of the Alaskan icefield, and feel the charm of the ice and snow world.

【Tent Ice Lake Fishing】

In Alaska, rivers and lakes freeze from the end of November to March of the following year. Generally, ice fishing is available when the thickness of the ice reaches 8 to 10 centimeters. Due to the low water temperature, the physiological activities of fish are greatly affected, and they are in a semi-sleeping state. They are slow to react to external influences, so they are less vigilant. In addition, the ice layer reduces the impact of external changes on fish. On the frozen lake, we have set up tents and prepared heaters for you to avoid the biting cold wind in Alaska in winter. On the lake surrounded by mountains and water, you can enjoy the beautiful natural scenery, breathe the cleanest air, and enjoy the quiet and peaceful natural environment. You can learn fishing skills from experienced ice fishing guides and experience different winter activities. If you are lucky enough to catch fish, we can help you grill your trophies on the spot and taste them on the spot.

The departure time is subject to the tour guide's notice. It will take 30 minutes by car (depending on the real-time traffic conditions) to reach the ice lake fishing lake. Start your 3-hour fun experience, learn how to hang bait, how to release the line, and experience and master the unique ice fishing skills of the Inuit.
